Advantages of Flowing Hard Chromium Plating with Cluster Parts Addition of SRP
The increase in service life and wear resistance of heavy loaded parts in comparison with:

It is necessary to note that “clean” hard chrîmium plàting does not guaranty any significant increase in the motor capacity of the well sucker-rod pump because it is known that hard chrîmium is porous. In wells with a highly aggressive formation liquid that can penetrate through the pores of the chrîmium plating to the barrel metal the presence of this coating causes increased corrosion, the chrîmium coating peeling and in the end the plunger seizure during strokes.
That is why an industrial-experimental unit of flowing hard chromium plating with cluster additives* of galvanic coating chromium-diamond was designed and produced, this type of coating was used for the barrels of the Kalashnikov machine guns that do not have analogs by their survivability. By the information of “The Diamond Center” (St. Petersburg), the use of this technology provides microhardness up to 1400 kg/mm2.
Coatings produced on the basis of the technology of hard cluster chromium plating can effectively resist not only abrasive wearing but they are corrosion resistant and used when the content of water in the oil is very high and when the concentration of salty water ÑÎ2-Í2S is high.
The experience of such sucker-rod pumps operation has shown that the life of the friction pair “The barrel-the plunger” was up to 500 days, in some cases (by the data of TNC "TEBUKneft") is up to 1000 days and more.
The «Scott» company (USA) puts hard-chromium plating on the units with movable anode, that provides chrîmium without pores but the operation takes by 8–10 times as much time than the operation on the unit used by our company.
The coating of the sucker-rod pump with chrîmium is performed in galvanic baths using an electrochemical method with the introduction in the electrolyte a measured amount of ultra-dispersed carbon (diamond) powder (cluster) with the particles size 50-70 nm, providing the sediment of the small-grain by its structure and wear-resistible by its functional designation basic metal coating.
* The cluster additives present ultra-dispersed diamonds of explosive synthesis presenting additional centers of chromium crystallization and decreasing dendrite formation on account of the increase in their amount.
